This past weekend I attended the Liberal Biennial Convention in Ottawa. It was an absolutely amazing weekend that has inspired me so much! Here are some highlights:
Traveling on a plane as a passenger for the first time since becoming a flight attendant;
Sitting down with former MP John Manley and getting a personal tour of his office;
Having a delicious lunch on Friday at the illustrious Rideau Club;
Attending numerous hospitality suites throughout the weekend;
Voting at my first convention for the next Liberal Party of Canada Executive, constitutional amendments, and policy issues;
Meeting and shaking hands with famous politicians such as Dalton McGuinty and Bob Rae; and,
Hearing motivating speeches, such as this one by Dalton McGuinty.
Overall, it was a great weekend that has really given me confidence in the Liberal Party of Canada and the Young Liberals of Canada. I managed to snap a few pictures of the weekend on my iPhone. It’s too bad they don’t capture the spirit of the more than 3,200 delegates that filled the Canada Hall at the Ottawa Convention Centre. The energy and passion at every event was amazing!
