We spent the morning today inside the hangar familiarizing ourselves with one of our B737-800 planes. This is a picture of me sitting inside engine 1 flanked by two of the most amazing and helpful individuals - my instructors! I have pictures of myself sitting in the flight deck, but I’ll save those for later!
As I mentioned, my instructors are fantastic! They always can find the best balance between learning and having a good time. Today they asked for three volunteers at the end of our hangar visit. I was one of the individuals selected to perform the safety demonstration for the class before we deplaned. However, what I didn’t know was that they had switched the demo life jacket out for a live one so when I was demonstrating how to pull on the red tabs my entire left vest blew up! We all had a great laugh. Following the life jacket demonstration we have to check our designated aisles before take-off so I was forced to waddle down the aisle with my inflated life jacket on! Someone recorded a video of it and it’s so funny! I might post that one for you sometime too!
All jokes aside, it’s now back to the books - lots of reading, studying and memorizing to do this weekend! Only four more weeks until I get my own uniform and wings!
